News Years Eve saw Daryl Ridgley of Daryl John Photographic at The Tally Ho in Arncott near Bicester for the wedding of Tom and Helen Molloy, seen here with their Daughter Amelia. Weather held out and we even managed some family shots in the garden even though it was very cold - you are brave Helen!

New Years Day was busy this year photographing Ben and Amelia Godden on their special day at The Burnham Beeches Hotel in Burnham Beeches (Obviously!!). The weather held out until we all got in to Church so thank the Lord for small mercies and a great service and may I say Father of The Bride speech made the day memorable to say the least. The evening guests were entertained by Cool Beans, a great local band. Photographs can be viewed by requesting a password from the Bride and Groom.

It is always fantastic when that little note drops through the post thanking you. It makes you feel a million dollars! Not only that but when that little note comes from the couple who introduced me to the Tassimo Coffee machine when I first called on them then its very special. I wonder how often Sebastian will use the great story of the day he lost Gemma's wedding ring only to find it had slipped inside his and was there all the time. They are a great couple and it was a pleasure working with them on their special day - and heres a Tassimo Coffee raised cup to the pair of you.

Amazing scenes at the wedding of Andrew & Genna Norris when the grooms father answered a telephone call during the service at Farnham Registry Office. the Registrar had just said "If anyone knows of any reason why these two should not be married they must speak now" just as the Grooms Father Kevin Norris answered a call and said "Yes". Honestly you couldn't make it up. The Groom was 15 minutes late for the service and the wedding was within a couple of minutes of not going ahead as the guests for the next wedding gathered. Boy what a day - I needed a good drink after this one!!!

Gemma and Sebastian Conway Married at Chastleton House on the 18th of September 2010 and I was pleased to be there photographer. I certainly seem to be taking the weather with me wherever I go this year and this day was no exception. Chastleton House is a National Trust property where Sebastian both lives and works. The Marquee in the gardens above the croquee lawn was well positioned with access to all parts of the garden and it was a pleasure just to be there. The two bands were both excellent and the idea of having music all day certainly worked. If only all venues were this nice!

Laura and Lee's Wedding Yesterday at the Great Barn in Aynho was a fabulous day. One of Oxfordshires lovliest venues just off the M40 could not have been better and the weather stayed dry but it had cooled down enough to make wearing a suit much more comfortable. Good luck to Laura and Lee who make a fine couple.

I beleive there are two big issues at the moment - Quality & Price. I beleive these are very important but I also beleive the couple should choose a photographer they like - why? you ask. The 25th July this year took me to St Mary's Church in Ambroseden, Oxfordshire, and then on to Ambroseden Village Hall. Take a look at the photographs by clicking the title above, but in summary the day went well and I could not have asked the weather gods to be kinder. Julie & Chris had a fantastic day (except for the wasps!!!) and the day was a credit to their organisation.

This year I have peddled my trade as a wedding photographer in many a new location. this year we have visited the Counties of Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and of course I have spent a bit of time here in Oxfordshire. The Glamour Photography and Event Photography have been active over a wider field than ever before. We are bucking a trend because our services are not the cheapest, and could not be described as cheap, but we do offer quality and value for money and it seems this is being recognised.

I beleive the most important thing to consider with your choice of Photographer is the relationship you have with him/her. If you get along well the photographer can make your day really easy and my style is to be very laid back and unobtrusive. Its your wedding day so being pushed around by a man/woman with a camera may leave the wrong type of memories. I say go for someone you liked when you met them, someone who can demonstrate getting the job done and someone who is relaxed and helpful.

I dont know any wedding photographers that are not digital now. the quality argument has long since been lost and times move on. Film was a great medium but the risks associated were huge. Digital does cause problems though - every man and his dog thinks they can take photographs. Digital cameras, even very good ones, are affordable. Many people at weddings carry more equipment than the official photographer, but STOP - most, if not all of them cannot take a good photo. Equipment doesn't improve the photograph, the photographers skills do that. I use two cameras at a wedding. The first is set up with a good general purpose lense as I will use this camera for 90% of the work. The other is set with a 300mm lense for longer work so the subject will not even be aware they are being photographed. I shoot short with TTL flash at all times to reduce shadows and long without relying on natural light. I carry a tripod for church shoots and lots of spare batteries. What more can a man need.

I have come across a whole host of concerns when meeting with couples and discussing their wedding photography. For example, will you turn up?, will you boss us around?, will you be on your own?, do you use digital cameras or film?
